There were a lot of games that were suspiciously absent from the press conference.
It’s been so long that we managed to get a newHalf-Lifegame before we got aBeyond Good And Evilfollow-up!
All we’ve wanted were the continuing adventures of Jade and her anthropomorphic pals.
Instead, it’s apparently grown into some massive multiplayer game that serves as a prequel to the series.
Except that Jade is also in it and possibly the villain?
It’s all terribly confusing and we got nothing resembling clarification last night.

But, they’ve reassured everyone that the game is still in development and moving forward.
It’s just taking a very long time.

Ubisoft has since stated that this build wasn’t representative of the final product.
Skull & Bones
Once again, there was no love for Ubisoft’s long-missing pirate game.
There wasn’t even a hint of its existence.

We still have very little to go on other than its 2018 E3 trailer.
At this point, you would think that the team behindSkull & Boneswould have some kind of update.
Yet, here we are in 2020 and there’s still nary a word about Ubisoft’s pirate plans.
They’ve also been quiet on social media.
The game hasn’t been officially canceled and is currently slated to release sometime during 2021/2022.
Regardless, the silence about the project is deafening.
It could also be just about anything else.
Splinter Cell
The lastSplinter Cellgame wasSplinter Cell: Blacklist, which was released in 2013.
That means that Sam Fisher somehow sat out the entirety of this console generation.
Of course, he did make cameos here and there, including appearances inGhost Recon WildlandsandGhost Recon Breakpoint.
Other than that, theSplinter Cellseries is seemingly on ice, which is an absolute travesty.
Latest News: Gamers may have gotten excited last nightwhenSplinter Cellwas trending on Twitter.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t about a new game in the franchise.
As of this writing, there is said to be no newSplinter Cellproject in development.
It’s a sad time for fans of stealth action and Michael Ironside’s voice.
We’ll just have to see what they have in store for us whenever that livestream occurs.
