The meazels; one of the most infamous and annoying encounters inBaldur’s Gate 3.
Gerringothe Thorm is one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s more tricky gimmick encounters.
Luckily, she’s not that hard to take down once you figure things out.
But you’ve come to the right place to see to it this battle goes in your favor.
The meazels can be found in anabandoned pottery warehouse (X: -35, Y: 8).
There are a few ways to spot the meazels before they spot you.
If you got theErsatz Eye from Voloearlier in the game, you will automatically be able to see Invisibility.
However, there is a way to see the meazels, no magic required.
If you succeed, the meazels will become visible.
to get to take away this advantage from them, see to it you spot them before combat.
If it’s possible for you to’t see them, though, don’t worry!
That way, your other non-Alert party members don’t get Surprised.
double-check they have weapons they can swing in case they need to fight with their fists.
However, all of their abilities remain the same.
The meazels are intelligent creatures, and will strategize how to best separate and kill your party.
Given that there are four meazels, the meazels willdivide up and target different charactersas combat progresses.
Each meazel willtry to Garrote a non-Garroted creature, until each party member is Garroted.
Once Garroted, you willtake bludgeoning damage every turnwhile nearby the meazel Garroting you.
To end this effect, you canwalk more than 5m away from the meazelto break the Garrote.
The meazels willteleport Garroted creatures into the Shadow-Curseto double down on the passive damage you are taking each round.
Likewise, Shadowheart is always immune to the Shadow-Curse.
Use these boons to your advantage!
Give each of them amelee weapon and good armorso they can hold their own without their fancy magic.
If you keep these tips in mind, defeating the meazels should be relatively easy.
What Are The Rewards?
There are not many rewards for defeating the meazels; a bitter end to an annoying encounter, unfortunately.
Each meazel has a few coins and a spool of rope on their bodies that can be looted.
Larian Studios must think they’resoclever!
When you get near the entrance to the warehouse, your characters will make an Investigation check.
On a success, you willspot a moveable brick in the stone wall.
Interacting with this brick will give you the Potter’s Key.
Inside the wooden chest is a note and an idol to Selune.
Does Madeline deserve it?
