This guide will cover how Arc works, its keywords, and we’ll showcase all Aspects and Fragments.
New Aspects were added to Striker and Stormcaller, Fragments were reworked, and some pre-existing Aspects were rebalanced.
We’ve updated this guide to include the latest information on the new Aspects and Y7 balance changes.
What Is Arc 3.0?
This also means some classes received new abilities with Arc 3.0, such as the Hunter’sGathering StormSuper.
Each item costs a small Glimmer fee.

Arc Keywords Explained
Unlike previous subclass reworks, Arc 3.0 doesn’t have many keywords.
Let’s go over what each Arc keyword does.
Enemies are less accurate while you’re Amplified.
Sprinting for two seconds will trigger Speed Boost.
Lasts until you stop sprinting.
Speed Boost can persist after Amplified expires.
Bolt Charge
While active, all damage dealt will iterate stacks of Bolt Charge, up to x10.
Each stack grants 2.5% melee energy.
Consumes all Bolt Charge stacks.
Debuffs
Blind
Combatants are disoriented and unable to shoot.
Guardians temporarily lose their HUD and suffer from distorted audio.
Stuns Unstoppable Champions
Jolt
Jolted targets periodically releaseChain Lightningto nearby targets when damaged.
Stuns Overload Champions
Subclass Pickup
Ionic Trace
A fissure of Arc energy that tracks to its creator.
Restores 12.5% grenade, 12.5% melee, and 15% class ability energy.
Ionic Traces only spawn for the creator, not allies.
Your overall movement is enhanced while Amplified.
Remember that Mobility doesnotaffect sprint speed or your class-related jump.
While Amplified, you are also more difficult to hit for PvE enemies.
This behaves similarly toThe Manticore’s Exotic perk.
It’s an invaluable effect in high-tier PvE content, although the exact accuracy debuff is hard to quantify.
Amplify doesnotinfluence aim assist or reticle stickiness in PvP.
These effects donotstack with Exotics or other sources of increased sprint speed/slide distance.
Notable sources of Amplified include Arc multikills and theSpark of VoltsFragment.
Bolt Charge stacks have infinite duration; they don’t expire.
Notable sources of Bolt Charge includeDisorienting Blow,Tempest Strike, and Storm’s Keep.
Blind Explained
Blinding Unstoppable Champions will stun them.
Notable sources of Blind includeFlashbang Grenadesand the Hunter’sDisorienting Blow.
Jolt Explained
Jolt chain lightning can stun Overload Champions.
The Jolted Guardian doesnottake any added damage in PvP.
Notable sources of Jolt include theSpark of ShockFragment, the Hunter’sLethal CurrentAspect, and the Voltshot perk.
For example, all Exotic Primary weapons get a 1.3x damage scalar against red bar enemies.
It’s important to mention these scalars because they directly impact Jolt’s damage output.
Sidearms get a 1.55x damage scalar against bosses.
Abilities donotbenefit from stronger Jolts if you use damage-enhancing Exotics such asVerity’s Brow.
We highly recommend using Voltshot weapons or theGathering StormSuper to inflict a stronger debuff.
Ionic Traces are grounded and cannot float.
Notable sources of Ionic Traces include the Warlock’sElectrostatic MindAspect, theColdheartExotic Trace Rifle, and theSpark of IonsFragment.
Arc Grenades
Arcbolt Grenade
Arcbolt Grenades behave similarly to Firebolt Grenades on Solar.
The closer to the epicenter you are, the stronger the blinding effect will be.
Titans with theTouch of ThunderAspect will enhance theFlashbang Grenade’sfunctionality.
Flux Grenade
TheFlux Grenadeis one of Destiny 2’s hardest-hitting grenades.
To compensate for the grenade’s minimal aim assist,Flux Grenades can one-tap Guardians in the Crucible.
In PvE, Flux Grenades can one-shot most yellow bar targets and heavily damage Champions.
To compensate for its high damage, Flux Grenades has a lengthy ability cooldown.
These lightning strikes deal massive damage and are an effective way of getting cleanup kills in PvP.
Titans can use theTouch of ThunderAspect to buff Pulse Grenades further.
Enhanced Pulse Grenades create Ionic Traces periodically when damaging targetstypically spawning three per grenadeand a damage ramp-up mechanic.
WithSpark of Magnitudeequipped, the storm lasts for 2.75 seconds and can strike the same enemy three times.
The Touch of Thunder variant has no hit restrictions, so all lightning bolts can hit the same target.
The bolts themselves are somewhat randomized, releasing sporadically during the grenade’s duration.
Combination Blow kills also partially heal you and fully refund your class ability energy.
Stacking all of these buffs makes Combination Blowstrong enough to one-shot Champions in Master content.
Use this melee in the Crucible for an easy source of Amplify.
Melee Exotics likeSynthocepscan greatly improve Ballistic Slam’s performance in endgame content.
(Titan) Thunderclap
Thunderclapis Destiny 2’s first channeled melee skill.
you could increase the damage and reach of this blast by holding the melee key.
If held for two seconds, Thunderclap will reach maximum strength and immediately activate.
A fully chargedThunderclapdeals immense damage in PvE and can instantly kill enemy Guardians in PvP.
This Super lasts for roughly ten seconds before it disappears.
(Hunter) Storm’s Edge
Empower your knife with Arc energy and throw it forward.
This deals lackluster damage in PvE and struggles to kill anything tougher than a major.
In PvP, this is a one-hit kill that is incredibly difficult to escape.
Heavy attacks will slam your fists to the ground, dealing moderate damage to nearby targets.
The shockwave itself deals mediocre damage in PvE but can be buffed with theCuirass of the Falling StarExotic.
Chaos Reach is also a great shutdown Super in PvP.
(Warlock) Stormtrance
Slam a lightning bolt into the ground before infusing yourself with Arc energy.
Hunter Arc Aspects
Flow State
Defeating a Jolted enemy grants Amplified.
Being Amplified also grants +50 Reload Speed and 20% faster reload animations to all weapons.
While equipped, defeating Jolted targets grants x1 Bolt Charge.
Lethal Current
After dodging, your next melee attack has increased lunge range and creates a Jolt explosion.
Punching Jolted targets will Blind them.
Dodging causes your nextArc Staffattack to hit twice.
Ascension
Press the air move key to twirl your Arc Staff, propelling you in the air.
Nearby enemies are Jolted, while you and nearby allies become Amplified.
Using Ascension consumes your class ability, triggering any benefits your class ability would normally provide.
Amplified also grants a massive reload speed increase for all weapons.
This scalar applies regardless of your weapon’s reload speed stat.
Tempest Strikeisnotaffected byLethal Currentand overrides your melee cooldown timer.
Check ourability cooldowns guidefor more information.
This Aspect doesnotwork withTempest Strike.
Youcannotrefresh Lethal Current while it’s active.
Lethal Current kills donotcount as Combination Blow kills.
make a run at land the final blow with your melee to refresh yourCombination Blowstacks.
Titan Arc Aspects
Touch of Thunder
Flashbangs fire an additional blind impulse.
Pulse Grenades create Ionic Traces and deal more damage over time.
Lightning grenades gain an additional charge and Jolt targets.
Storm Grenades roam shortly after their creation.
Juggernaut
While sprinting and with full class ability energy, gain a 50HP frontal shield that protects incoming damage.
Shield damage grants x1 Bolt Charge.
If destroyed, you lose all class ability energy.
While Amplified, the shield has 75HP with 33% DR (PvE only).
Knockout
Melee kills trigger health regeneration and grant Amplified.
Critically wounding an enemy or breaking their shield increases melee range and melee damage for a brief period.
Titan’s uncharged melee counts as a powered melee ability whileKnockoutis active.
This doesnottrigger armor mods that are related to Barricade castsDynamo, Bomber, etc.
PvP Juggernaut blocks all excess damage, allowing you to survive Sniper Rifle headshots and similar effects.
By default, Juggernaut absorbs 50 points of damage. While Amplified,Juggernaut absorbs 75 points of damage.
Using another source of overshields with JuggernautSentinel’sBastioneffect orMk.
44 Stand Asideswill grant the overshield itself butwon’taffect the Juggernaut frontal shield.
In PvE, Juggernaut also grants 33% damage resistance while active, stacking multiplicatively with other DR sources.
Taking damage immediately ends the health regeneration effect.
Critically wounding an enemy grants a six-second buff that extends your melee range and increases melee damage.
Knockout cannot be refreshed while active.
Uncharged melee attacks deal 100% more damage (50% in PvP).
Using your class ability will grant x4 stacks of Bolt Charge, increased to x6 if you cast Thruster.
This lets you easily infuse your abilities with Bolt Charge explosions through aggressive play.
Allies get this benefit as well.
Warlock Arc Aspects
Arc Soul
Your Rifts now grant you and your allies anArc Soul.
It will float beside you and shoot at nearby targets, lasting 15 seconds.
While Amplified, anyArc Soulyou have or gain is supercharged, increasing its rate of fire.
Your Rifts also charge faster while allies are near.
Lightning Surge hits grant x1 Bolt Charge.
Electrostatic Mind
Arc ability kills generate an Ionic Trace.
Eliminating an enemy affected by Jolt or Blind will also spawn an Ionic Trace.
When you collect any Ionic Trace, you become Amplified.
Ionic Sentry
Kinetic and Arc weapon kills grant stacks of Ionic Sentry.
At x6 stacks, your next grenade spawns an Arc turret that fires chain lightning at nearby foes.
Each target stuck by Ionic Sentry grants x1 Bolt Charge.
Amplified Arc Souls fire much faster, similar to the Sentient Arc Souls provided by theGetaway ArtistExotic.
You may only be affected by oneArc Soulat a time.
Gaining an Arc Soul again will refresh your current Arc Soul’s duration instead.
Arc Soul can be used alongside No Time to Explain’s Time Portal and similar turret effects.
Using this ability consumes your melee charge, regardless of whether it hits anyone.
Additionally, any enemies struck by Lightning Surge will grant x1 Bolt Charge.
Electrostatic Mindallows you tocreate Ionic Traces by defeating enemies affected by Blind or Jolt.
Grabbing the Ionic Trace grants 12.5% ability energy and, thanks to the Aspect, makes you Amplified.
This damage doesnotJolt, but it does grant stacks of Bolt Charge.
As of writing, Ionic Sentry does not have any synergies with the Stormcaller kit.
Remember, you’re able to only have two Aspects equipped at a time.
Fragments can also alter your Guardian’s stats while equipped.
This Fragment doesnothave a cooldown.
This Fragment’s buff persists for two seconds once you are no longer surrounded.
There’s not much to explain here.
Spark Of Shock
Spark of Shock:Your Arc grenades jolt targets.
This Jolt is unaffected by ability-enhancing Exotics likeHeart of Inmost LightandVerity’s Brow.
This Fragment has a ten-second cooldown between activations.
Collecting an Ionic Trace grants Bolt Charge.
Any Arc weapon can trigger this Fragment, even Osmosis weapons.Spark of Dischargedoesnothave a cooldown.
Gain an additional stack of Bolt Charge whenever Bolt Charge is obtained.
Additionally, you gain an extra stack of Bolt Charge from all Bolt Charge sources.
This affects everything from subclass Aspects to weapon perks.
-10 to the stat that governs your class ability cooldown.
This effect is halved in PvP and stacks with cooldown reduction effects.
This effect persists so long as your shield is broken.
Persisting Arc grenades last roughly 33% longer withSpark of Magnitude, similar toVoid’sEcho of RemnantsFragment.
Affected grenades includeLightning Grenade,Pulse Grenade, andStorm Grenade.
This Fragment has a ten-second cooldown.
Spark Of Feedback
Spark of Feedback:Taking melee damage briefly increases your outgoing melee damage.
Melee damage must be from a physical punch or swipe from the enemy; boss stomps donotcount.
This effect stacks with other melee damage buffs and doesnothave a cooldown.
Spark Of Volts
Spark of Volts:Finishers make you Amplified and grant x1 Bolt Charge.
Finishing a combatant grants a 15-second Amplified buff and a stack of Bolt Charge.
Performing another finisher before Amplified expires will reset your timer.
There’s no cooldown to this Fragment.
Since it only procs on Finishers, this Fragment only grants +10 Recovery in PvP.
Allweapon precision kills can trigger Spark of Brilliance, not just Arc weapons.
When your shields break, you release a wave of Arc energy that inflicts Jolt on all nearby targets.
This Fragment incurs a15-second cooldownbetween activations.
While sprinting, you gain roughly +20 to your Mobility, Resilience, and Recovery stats.
