Subclass customization has finally returned to theDestinyfranchise with the Beyond Light expansion.
These passive bonuses range from granting stronger Stasis detonations to increased weapon stats after freezing a target.
For those looking for the best Fragments, here are all ofDestiny 2’sStasis Fragments ranked from worst to best.
We’ve updated the tier list to reflect these changes and community discoveries.
14Whisper Of Refraction
Whisper of Refraction:Defeating slowed or frozen targets grants you class ability energy.
This Fragment can prove to be a solid choice for Crucible players.
Via: Bungie
Dodges, Barricades, and Rifts with the Frostpulse Aspectare incredibly strongwhen utilized properly.
Whisper of Refraction also saw an indirect nerf in Season of the Lost.
Utility Kickstart, a Stasis class item mod, effectively does the same thing.
Using your class ability will refund up to 30% class ability energy.
This Fragment recharges your melee ability by 2.5% per second while two enemies are near you.
If more enemies surround you, this effect becomes stronger.
It seems to cap out at 10% melee energy per second while five enemies are near you.
Whisper of Fractures works in PvP.
With that said, one mechanic makes this Fragment obsolete: Stasis shards.
This Fragment is somewhat deceptive, as itonly works with Primary weapons.
Special Kinetic weapons don’t see a damage boost at all.
It’s the main reason why this otherwise excellent Fragment is rated so poorly on this list.
For comparison, High-Energy Fire only provides a 20% damage buff15% in PvP.
You’ll also gain a five-second buff called Nimble Arsenal, granting 100 handling to all weapons.
You cannot reload your weapons through Stasis melees while Nimble Arsenal is active.
This Fragment works in PvP.
With constant melee uptime, you never have to reload and have permanent Quickdraw on all weapons.
This also allows you to weave different guns together during a DPS phase.
Via: Bungie
So long as you have melee charges, you’ll never have to reload again.
The issue is that Revenant is the only subclass that has ample melee charges.
10Whisper Of Hunger
Whisper of Hunger:Increases the melee energy gained from picking up Stasis shards.
This comes with a massive caveat of -10 to the Mobility and Recovery stats.
Whisper of Hungerdoes notenhance the healing effects provided by Whisper of Rime.
Hunger works in PvP.
Melee energy is seldom a problem with this Fragment equipped.
The issue is that Hunger comes with a massive opportunity cost.
If you’re building into your melee ability, Whisper of Hunger is a fantastic pick.
For builds that are focusing on another property of Stasis, you’re better off with another Fragment.
This Fragment is also tough to recommend in PvP due to the major stat penalties.
9Whisper Of Durance
Whisper of Durance:Slows from your abilities last longer.
For those abilities that linger, their duration will also increase.
Whisper of Durance is a flexible Fragment that works for just about every build.
Durance increases the duration of the slow debuff by 0.5 seconds.
Most players won’t notice this uptime increase, but they will certainly notice their abilities lasting longer.
PvE Bleak Watcher builds should always have this equipped.
8Whisper Of Bonds
Whisper of Bonds:Defeating frozen targets grants you Super energy.
-10 Intellect and -10 Discipline.
Orpheus Righas become a Stasis Fragment in the form of Whisper of Bonds.
Every enemy grants 2.5% Super energy on kill.
While that sounds low, freezing a small group of enemies can generate a large chunk of Super energy.
Behemoths might want to skip this Fragment unless they use Diamond Lance orfreeze tons of enemieswith Glacier Grenades.
Revenants can use Bonds to help refund Super energy upon casting Silence & Squall.
What makes this Fragment truly powerful is its synergy withAger’s Scepter.
Every subclass that uses Ager’s Scepter will want this Fragment.
Shadebinders and Revenants will want to use this Fragment for Super-reliant builds.
Whenever you receive damage from any enemy, you will gain around 5% of your grenade energy back.
This has an internal cooldown of around one second.
If you take damage from multiple sources, the effect will only proc once.
Whisper of Torment works in PvP.
So why don’t more builds use this Fragment more often?
Quite simply, most builds just don’t have enough space.
6Whisper Of Conduction
Whisper of Conduction:Nearby Stasis shards track to your position.
Stasis shards will track towards your location, similar to how Soul Devourer works on Thorn.
Since shards are instanced, only you will benefit from the shard tracking.
Becoming invisible by any means will disable Stasis Shard tracking.
The stat increases are also fantastic, with Conduction being the only Fragment that buffs your Intellect stat.
Crucible players should definitely consider using this Fragment for the stat increases alone.
Any build that focuses on shattering Stasis crystals will want to pick up Whisper of Fissures.
This Fragment will increase the damage and size of Stasis detonations while equipped.
Every class can benefit from this to some degree.
Shadebinders get the most mileage out of Fissures in PvE due to how easily they can freeze targets.
Throw a Coldsnap Grenade, watch your enemies freeze, then damage them to create a massive explosion.
For PvE and PvP Stasis builds, Whisper of Fissures is almost always a good pick.
