What Is A Dexterity Build?

Make it a Keen Uchigatanato fully benefit from your Dexterity.
Again, make this a Keen Nagakiba and you are good to go.

The downsides to the Hand Of Malenia?
Despite its high base damage,it doesnt have the best scaling- which is both surprising and disappointing.
Considering the lack of customization options, theHand Of Malenia is strong but restrictive.
MoonveilandRivers of Bloodare both excellent katanas, but they require Intelligence and Arcane.
Consider a hybrid build if you plan to use either of these katanas.
Bloody Slash Skillis devastatingly powerful and is a perfect fit for your Uchigatana as it extends your range significantly.
Bloody Slash received the following buffs in patch 1.07, which remain unchanged as of 1.09:

The delayfor starting the slash after a prior animationwas reduced.

For Talismans, you have several options worthy of consideration.
To increase yourdamage in combat, you could choose from theLord of Blood’s Exultationor theShard Of Alexander.
These choices enable you to build arounda powerful katana like Rivers of Bloodfor damage dealing.
You could also try and aim for a Light Rollif you want more I-Framesbut less damage reduction.
Stonebarb increases your stagger, perfect for katanas as their lack of stagger is one of their biggest weaknesses.
The Dexterity-Knotwill push yourDexterity to 90and increase your damage as a result.
If you want to run something a little different, this is the best Urumi build.
There is only one weapon that can work with this build: theUrumi.
Other whips wouldnt work here since you are building towards the Urumis unique strength itsCharged Heavy Attack.
Urumi also has anS-scaling in Dexteritywhen turned into a Keen Urumi.
What makes this attack so interesting, is that theUrumibecomes a spear andthrusts out for incredible range and damage.
One of the downsides to whips, in general, is that therearent many Ashes Of War that synergize.
That being said, you’re able to still be creative.
Erdtrees FavorandGreen Turtle Talismanare all-around great picks, but the big winner for this build is theAxe Talisman.
The Axe Talismanwill boost your Charge Attacks substantially, making the R2 attack on the Urumi even more powerful.
If you want to look especially dapper, however, thenHoslows Armor looks fantasticon any whip user.
TheSpiked Cracked Tearwillboost your Charge Attacks, further enhancing Urumis incredible R2.
What theBloodhound’s Fangmisses in speed itmakes up for in raw damageand a brilliant Weapon Art.
The Bloodhounds Fang is a brilliant weapon that willdeal more damage per swingthan any other weapon on this list.
It comes with a decent B-scaling in Dexterity, great base damage, and the wonderful Curve Greatsword moveset.
Talismans are a bit more important for this weapon as it requires a higher investment in Stamina to swing.
Erdtrees FavorandGreen Turtlewill help mitigate this cost nicely.
Winged Swordwill give you a nice boost to your damage if you land several successive attacks.
As is always the case,Dexterity-knot Crystal Tearworks wonders on this weapon.
However, consider combining it with theStrength-knot Crystal Tear.
But ever since update 1.07,Ash of War: Storm Bladeoffers Dexterity-based buildsa unique opportunity forextreme ranged damage.
Storm Bladepropels a current of airat enemies that are normally out of reach.
Storm Blade Skillworks on theUchigatanaor theNagakiba, daggers such as theMisericordeorErdsteel Dagger, or even greatswords like theClaymoreorFlamberge.
Pick a weapon that you enjoy and alsohas good scaling with Dexterity.
Ancestral Spirit’s HornandCarian Filigreed Crestwill both help immensely with Storm Blade’s FP cost.
Shard of Alexanderwill boost your damage, but you might useProsthesis-Wearer Heirloomuntil you find Alexander.
