And it’s unsurprisingly a fun new venture for the critically acclaimed studio.
Check out our impressions from the recent online grid test in today’s episode of Game Gems.
Sometimes you dont know how bad things are until someone finds a better way.
It might not sound as revolutionary as the DualShock, but I assure you, it is.
Sure theres tension, the stakes are high, but is that fun?
Is that a rewarding, skill-based mechanic?
It always felt like a necessary evil to me.
I dont like it, but I just assumed there was no better option.
Some of my most frustrating experiences playing games have involved saving a teammate though.
Its a finicky, half-baked mechanic that every co-op game has used forever.
And its so simple!
When the homie goes down, its time to start stabbing.
Why would poking your friend with a sword or bludgeoning them with a big hammer heal their injuries?
Well, dont worry about it.
Are you gonna stab that guy or what?
What I like so much about this approach is that its consistent with the rest of Nightreigns gameplay.
Its a continuation of the combat youre already in; youre just switching targets.
you’ve got the option to even use a bow to revive them from range!
Its a mechanic thats brilliant in its simplicity.
I never want to see another game with the old style of team resurrection again.
If I cant bludgeon my buddies to save them, then Im not interested.
