Comics are known for their characters.

Thankfully,Marvel Rivalsdelivers.

The excellent characterization of each hero and villain ensures they feel familiar to fans.

How have these famous costumes not made their way to Marvel Rivals yet?

Out of the many humorous interactions, some stand out more than others.

While some character chatter has become familiar to players, there are too many lines to count.

Peni Parker’s mech SP//dr from Marvel Rivals.

Don’t worry, you’ll see any you’ve missed here.

Each interaction is attributed to whichever character began the dialogue.

Lines containing non-English speech or verbalizations have notes explaining context or meaning.

Iron Man- “Same!

He takes my brilliant ideas and makes them ever-so-slightly better!”

Invisible Woman- “I’ll be sure to tell him exactly what you said.”

Iron Man- “like don’t.

There’s no way I can do this without him.”

The Invisible Woman, Sue Storm, hadquite the appeal to the Rivals communityon her release.

Jeff The Land Shark in Marvel Rivals.

Sue’s thanks to Tony aligns with many of Mister Fantastic’s dialogue interactions.

Many of his lines involve requests for help or discussing the state of the current crisis.

However, gratitude doesn’t keep Sue from returning Stark’s snarky remark with a jab of her own.

7Jeff The Land Shark

Jeff the Land Shark- “Mrrar!”

Jeff makes a proud and welcoming set of growls, serving as an introduction.

Rocket seems thrown by the name Jeff, leaving it unclear whether more was said than his name.

Rocket- “Your name is Jeff?

Context suggests a remark on being forced to work with or against Loki.

The multiversal setting could allow both, hence a generalized complaint about seeing him everywhere seems likely.

Peni Parker from Marvel Rivals.

Rocket- “Yeah, none of us like Loki.

So let’s go save Asgard, okay?”

For many gamers, the greatest thing Marvel Rivals brought them is the lovable land shark, Jeff.

He’s just a little guy.

Jeff is the pet of Gwenpool and Kate Bishop.

He is later put in the care of Deadpool, and has made various appearances across the Marvel universe.

Fascinating, isn’t it?”

Moon Knight- “No one asked for your opinion, robot!

There are more interactions with H.E.R.B.I.E than you’d expect.

Rocket Raccoon using the 1872: Bounty Hunter skin in Marvel Rivals.

Although short, the dialogue with Moon Knight is one of the best.

The Fist of Khonshu has never been subtle, but this particular outburst is amusing for two reasons.

Another odd aspect to this conversation is that Moon Knight seemingly defends Khonshu from criticism.

5Magneto

Magneto- “Fascinating…”

Spider-Man- “I know, right?

Wait… What are we talking about here?”

Spider-Man- “Uh huh.

Shouldn’t you be stuck to the front of a fridge somewhere?”

The master of magnetism is anincredibly powerful mutant.

While Spider-Man can hold his own well enough, Magneto’s perspective is understandable.

Magneto is dismissive in his interaction with Spider-Man.

However, his remark does underestimate Peter’s capability.

The array of Spider-People is an intimidating lineup.

You know, going out every night, putting your loved ones in danger?”

Spider-Man- “Every time I put on the mask, Peni.

But we have a responsibility, someone has to stand up to all the bullies out there.”

This is an interaction where humor has nothing to do with its merits.

Everything comes together to make an excellent representation of the character that feels natural.

As in the Miles Morales movies, Spider-Man isbest with others.

Aside from bringing excellent character acting with Peni, this interaction is another with information.

It seems nowhere is safe in the world of Marvel Rivals.

3Mantis

Mantis- “I sense great worry in you, Peter.

What troubles you so?”

Eh, it’s nothing big."

Mantis- “I also sense great sarcasm.”

Mantis was a fan favorite in her first appearance on-screen, mainly for her straightforward but gentle nature.

Her lack of understanding subtlety is the focus, although this is another peek into the game’s story.

The ramifications of heroes fighting other versions of themselves is probably best not to dwell on.

2Spider-Man

Spider-Man- “Doc, I have a question.

Doctor Strange- “Would you want to?”

Spider-Man- “I mean… Maybe?

I bet there are a million spiders in Doomstadt.

I could command them all.”

PlayStation-1

Doctor Strange- “That, is a terrible idea, for reasons I will not bother to enumerate.”

While Spider-Man is considered a genius with a quick wit, not every idea he forms is wise.

His conversation with Strange is likely a reference to a particular Doctor Strange.

He finds the experience to not be as enjoyable as he imagined.

It turns out a predator with simple goals doesn’t offer much in the way of common ground.

PC-1

Spider-Man finds himself answering concerning questions from the arachnid he meets.

Considering Doctor Strange has limited perception of the multiverse, perhaps this response is a subtle warning.

1Rocket Raccoon

Rocket- “That’s some nice armor you got there, sweetheart.

How much you want for it?”

Peni Parker- “(mo), Rocket.

You know SP//dr isn’t for sale.”

Marvel Rivals

Peni’s response starts with an exclamation.

She says “mo” with a sigh, like saying “c’mon” or “oh already.”

Rocket- “How ‘bout just one arm?

Aww, come on!

You’re killing me kid.”

Peni Parker- “Not yet.

But I’d be careful if I were you.”

In his first appearance, Rocket made a habit of attempting to steal or buy odd equipment.

From his request for a prisoner’s leg, to his desire for Bucky’s metal arm.

Even if you consider his engineering interests, Rocket’s requests are unreasonable at best.

Turning on full subtitles will help with understanding lines like the one Peni uses here.

They are typically displayed as English captions that explain or translate meanings.

Regrettably, the subtitles are not perfect, and Peni seems to suffer most from inaccurate captions.

In Rivals, this extends to SP//dr, Peni’s mechanical suit.

Peni has no qualms shutting down his desire for her tech.

Despite her understanding, if annoyed, initial response, her patience has a limit.

Given her strength and skill, Rocket should certainly hope she never follows through on a threat.
