Nine Solsbeckons players to explore its vast world and confront powerful bosses.
There have been some truly exceptional indie games released over the years.
But these titles stand out as the best the genre has to offer.
Players familiar withgames like Hollow Knightand Sekiro will find similar mechanics here as well.
TheStory mode tones down all the damageYi takes.
Thecombat becomes monotonousand overly simplistic.
Thisalso applies to boss encounters.
Most bosses haveswift attack patterns and small combo strings.
It means thatYi will get to strike back very oftenonce the boss is done executing an attack.
If youdo not visit the Pavilionoften, youcould miss out on many upgrades and unlockables.
Thebest time to visit the Pavilionis usuallyafter beating a boss.
Any interactable NPC or Sol Carrier you encounter or defeat will move to the Pavilion.
For example, theKuafu NPC, whounlocks the Azure Bowfor Yi,relocates there once you meethim.
Skipping visits to the Pavilionwhile exploring new areas means you willoverlook important upgradesthat couldhave been useful sooner.
Do not do this!
Youunlock itby defeating Yingzhaoand thenspeaking with Kuafuback at the Pavilion.
TheAzure Bow’s strength lies in its abilitytoeliminate multiple targets with a single shot.
Simply line them up and unleash the arrow in their direction.
Byupgrading the bow’s arrow count and damage through Kuafu, you canenhance its effectivenesseven further.
This extra currency can then be used to purchase upgrades from both the Printer and Kuafu.
Thisrequires you to defeat them againto progress.
While you doearn in-game currency each time you defeat enemies, the repetitive nature of thisprocess can become tiresome.
Focus onmoving forward without unnecessary combatto streamline your story progression and acquire all nine Sols from the bosses.
These barriers, known as progression blockers, remain until Yi acquires a new ability.
Once you unlock a new skill, like Air Dash, previously inaccessible areas become reachable.
That is whyit is a good idea to revisit areasyou couldnot access beforeandcollect the missable loot.
Master The Parry Mechanic
Parry is the core mechanicof the combat in the game.
Every encounter, whether minor or with a major boss, requires perfect timing to parry.
This allows you toavoid getting hitandseize the opportunity to strikeback.
While you could alwaysblock enemy attacks, doing so willdeplete some of Yi’s health.
Learning the parry should not be avoided becauseyou need all the healthyou can getto survive longer and defeat bosses.
Mastering the parry mechanic is the only way to outsmart and beat bosses easily.
Parry also opens up a window to strikewith the normal attacks oruse various talismans.
The effect of each talisman can vary depending on the installed Jades.
Therefore, never miss the opportunity to parry and strike back with talismans.
Learn Attack Patterns Of Bosses
Every boss fight encounter is unique.
Sometimes you willfight a tough boss on your own.
Other times, there will be minions attackingtoo.
To win over the bosses and progress Yi’s story, itis important to learn how bosses attack.
Youmight die a lot while you are learning, but that is okay!
After the boss’s attack, thereis a short break when Yi can hit back.
Or, if youremember their moves,Yi can parryand attack without waiting for a break.
You willprobably die a lot while you are learningto use new equipment, Jades, and abilities.
But do not worry it is all part of the learning process!
Although dying often can be frustrating, try not to get too stressed out!
Always learn from your mistakes.
The Nintendo Switch welcomes indie games with open arms, and some of them are must-plays.
