Of the new playable characters, only the Seeker is unlocked by default.
For the rest, you will have to perform some tasks during a run to unlock, including Chef.
Luckily, Chef is very easy to unlock, and can be done in under five minutes.
To unlock Chef, you will need to find aHalcyon Shrine.
They appear as a series of emerald pillars sticking out from the ground, with smaller patches surrounding them.
Along the way, you will need to find aBison Steak, Cautious Slug, andInfusion.
once you nail all the items you need, find the Halcyon Shrine and pray to it.
The mini-boss moves quickly and hits hard, so check that to be cautious when close to it.
Once you defeat the mini-boss, agreen portal will openand a random item will drop.
Chef will be located in a small enclave found at the bottom level of the Reformed Altar.
