Baatar is the second boss to appear inThe Rogue Prince of Persia.
They behave quite differently to any other enemy you’ll encounter thus far.
They hit hard, summon minions, and have platforming puzzles in the middle of the fight.
Don’t expect too many nods to the other Prince of Persia games.
How To Evade All Of Baatar’s Attacks
Baatar largely plays fairly with their attack patterns.
Summon Bombs
Baatar will channel for a few moments and thensummon flying bomb drones around the arena.
Don’t venture to attack the bombs, insteadjust run in straight lines through them.
You’ll pass safely through the explosion radius in the time it takes for them to detonate.
After a moment it spits outa beam attack.
This attack repeats twice, plus an additional time for each phase.
These can be avoided by moving vertically.
This will project a spinning beam that strafes across the arena twice.
You have to block these using terrain.
After you’ve defeated the first phase,Baatar will always follow this attack with Vertical Beams.
Vertical Beams
Baatar will slam onto the ground, which sendsbubbles with miasma.
This combines the mechanics of the horizontal and spinning beams.
How To Damage Baatar
Between attacks, Baatar willbecome exhausted for several secondsand slump on the ground.
This is when they’re vulnerable.
If you havemedallions that inflict damaging statuses, they will persist after Baatar recovers.
Combination status effects likepoison-resin and resin-fire are very effective.
Otherwise, you’re free to expect it to take longer.
Baatar can also be damaged during their attacks.
you oughta climb quickly to chase them as the miasma below the arena begins to overflow.
There are climbing paths available on both the left and right sides of the arena.
Falling into the miasma deals damage butteleports you up to the next patch of stable ground.
It is possible to fail every climbing challenge in the boss fight and still win.
With longer attack patterns and fewer opportunities to attack, damage over time effects are even more valuable.
When Baatar is defeated you will be able to reach the besieged palace.
