So, the next time your game decides to take an involuntary pause, don’t panic.
The post-game-freeze panic can be intense, but all is not lost.
Even if your game is frozen, you canstill save and recover your files.
Youdon’t needto jot down Alt + F4 in the game’scheat bar.
You only have to press the commandson your keyboard.
This command isPC specific.
To do this, pressCtrl + Shift + Con your keyboard to pop crack open the cheats bar.
tap on the Cheats Bar toenter the word ‘quit’and then pressEnter.
However, this cheat will pull up thefull Sims 4 menu, including all prefs.
Alt + F4 only lets you save or exit.
TheAlt + F4method can be used atany point.
When this happens, your only option is toclose the game manually.
‘When you’re in Task Manager, you willsee all active tasksthat your system is running.
go for the Sims 4byright-clickingon it in the Task Manager list and choose the option to’End Task.
‘This willforce a shutdownof the game.
Your gameprogress will not be savedif you have to force a shutdown.
Luckily,The Sims 4launcher has an option in place for exactly when this happens.
When you start up the game, go for the option to’Load Game.
‘From here, you will see alist of all of your saved worldsand files.
Choose the Floppy Disksymbol beside the world you want to recover.
From here, you will see alist of all recoverable savesfor that game.
Choosing whichever file you want willcreate a new save slotas a recovered version of the save.
The word’recovered’ will be addedto the end of the save slot’s name.
This method also works on console!
Some games willcrash or freeze repeatedlyand the only way to fix them is tocompletely reinstallthe game.
